The Human & Evolutionary Biology (HEB) section of the Department of Biological Sciences in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of human origins. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2018.
We seek an outstanding scholar in the area of hominin or hominoid evolutionary biology, with a research focus in functional morphology, evolutionary biomechanics, or the intersection of hominid evolutionary biology and behavioral primatology. An ideal candidate’s approach would involve experimental or field research, or ideally a combination of the two. The successful candidate will have an active research program, a commitment to excellence in both graduate and undergraduate teaching and will become an integral member of the interdisciplinary program in Human and Evolutionary Biology. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree and have a strong record of publishing and grant funding.
